Google Maps is great for getting around, but today on Twitter people are sharing an unexpected way the app has improved their lives.

Having lost her grandfather a few years ago, a woman from Charlotte, NC, checked Google Maps and was surprised to find that they had updated it to include images of her grandfather’s farm. Not only that, but in collecting the photos needed for the map, Google had snapped a pic of her grandfather sitting on a chair outside his trailer.

After she shared a recording of the moving map on Twitter, others started replying with their own similar experiences. One user named Jackie wrote in response, “Same thing with my abuelo, we can see him just relaxing outside our house in Mexico. Every time I miss him especially during this time I always go back to it.”

It’s a heartwarming way to feel connected to loved ones who’ve passed away, and right in the palm of your hand.
